Supporting Solent Mind

Mental health, good and bad, affects us all. It’s estimated that one in four people will experience a mental health problem of some kind in each year in England. One in six people will report experiencing a common mental health problem such as anxiety or depression in any given week.

It’s our belief that businesses have a duty of care over the communities they engage with to support the recognition of mental ill health and facilitate access to the appropriate support. We are very proud, therefore, to announce that we have partnered with Solent Mind, championing better mental health in Hampshire, where our head office is located.

More than a partnership and financial support for Solent mind, this is us as a business, standing up, and saying we recognise the importance of good mental health in our communities and amongst our staff and their families.

We have already adopted practices within the business, including our mental health Mondays, which offer staff the chance to discuss anything they might be struggling with in an open and supportive forum. We’ve also turned our attention to fundraising on behalf of Solent Mind with several of us taking part in the Great South Run, which you’ll be hearing more of as our journey progresses.

Solent Mind supported 54,880 people with their mental health in 2021 and over 6000 people received direct support from Solent Mind’s wellbeing services. This is vital, and no doubt, lifesaving work and we are proud to play a small part in supporting it going forward.
